Discover Sailing Training Centre

The Geographe Bay Yacht Club is a Discover Sailing Centre, accredited by Australian Sailing to deliver Learn to Sail training courses, through qualified Australian Sailing instructors.

The Club adheres to standards that ensure safety and customer satisfaction, in order to attain and retain this status. Only Centres accredited to do so, can display and promote the Discover Sailing brand as they have the services, systems and standards in place to uphold the brand “Discover Sailing”.

Tackers

Tackers is a fun introductory, games-based sailing course designed for kids aged 7-12 yrs, delivered at recognised Tackers Centres. Kids don’t need to have any sailing experience or club membership to participate. All the equipment, including the boats, is provided.
The Tackers courses are delivered in small groups by an Australian Sailing qualified Instructor and Assistant Instructors.

Teenagers and Adults

Dinghies are small sailing boats and a great way to get into sailing. Dinghies are ideal for teenagers and adults of all ages to learn the basics of sailing and racing. Sailing a dinghy can be fun and exhilarating and these courses have been developed to provide a safe introduction to dinghy sailing.

Courses Offered:

Tackers 1 (Ages 7-12): Perfect for young enthusiasts eager to grasp the basics of sailing. This course serves as an ideal starting point for budding sailors, covering fundamental skills and knowledge.

Tackers 2 (Continuation from Tackers 1): Designed for those who have completed Tackers 1 and are ready to advance their sailing prowess. Dive deeper into the world of sailing and enhance your skills further.
